The whare waka houses the waka taua Ngātokimatawhaorua. The refreshment of the structure includes a re-built viewing platform with new graphic interpretation and audio visual modules. Ceiling panels and a new lighting and audio spine has been built the entire length of the building. A soundscape of waves, seabird cries and chanting enhances the appreciation of this spectacular waka.
