During 2005-6, Dean completely re-designed the Meridian Energy visitor centres of the South Island hydro schemes at Pukaki, Benmore and Manapouri.

The centres tell the story of renewable energy and the engineering and technology that make it possible. Several physical and computer interactives and films, and an online education resource, were developed to help students explore some of the issues involved in energy generation.
